Alec B
Alec B is a 63-year-old man who first presented in 2004 with a tumour of his skull base, orbit and sinuses that was considered inoperable by his entire team in NSW. He had been treated very well by an expert skull base team made up of ENT surgeons, neurosurgeons, and ophthalmologists but when the cancer spread into his brain, he was placed in palliative care. A consult was obtained from the leading cancer hospital in the world, MD Anderson in Texas, who concluded that the recurrence was terminal, and their recommendation was for no further treatment.
Alec is alive and well 21 years later, enjoying his grandchildren and living life to the fullest…see the recent picture of him paragliding!
