Katie H.
Ms. Katie H., a 34-year-old woman, was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma. After an unsuccessful surgical attempt elsewhere, she was advised to undergo radiotherapy, with a projected life expectancy of approximately 18 months. Unwilling to accept this prognosis, her parents sought a second opinion with Dr. Teo, who successfully performed a curative resection, offering Katie a renewed chance at life.
Today, 24 years later, she is the mother of 3 beautiful children.
Pre Op
The red arrows outline the tumour in the top of the brainstem, called the midbrain. This area is arguably the most eloquent in the entire brain. A sub-millimetre digression into normal brain can cause devastating consequences.

Post Op
This post-op MRI shows a complete removal of the tumour from within the brainstem. It was done through a keyhole eyebrow approach with an excellent cosmetic outcome. There has been no recurrence to this day.
